Here is a great vid of Gary Smith (on the right) playing a harp duet with Aki Kumar, an excellent young player.
Both these guys are playing through Sonny Jr. amps: Gary is using his Cruncher and Aki is using his SJ410.
Nice tone...

I think this clip, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5Htd4KDHaE&feature=related gives you a better sense of the amp tone. The Gary smith one doesn't leave me wanting to buy a Cruncher.
I use KRK Rokit 5 monitors with sub. Sound card is M-Audio 2496 Audiophile. No problems hearing the recording.
To be sure, we are limited by the fidelity of the recording, but what else is new? I think we can form an opinion about tone from YouTube vids, especially when two amps are featured in the same -- or a similar -- recording.

Whoa... I like the tone from the Gary Smith video a LOT more.
Man, good harp tone is such a subjective thing.
'specially trying to figure it out through little bitty computer speakers.
