Joe's Blues Blog

My buddy Joe Lempkowski from the East Bay has spiffed up his blues blog and posted some great new stuff. In this post Joe does a killer set at the Redwood City Blues Jam at the Little Fox Theater, showing off his good chops on a Sonny Jr. Cruncher amp. His regular gig rig is a HarpGear Double Trouble amp. Joe also posts a review of a Skip Simmons-modded Masco MA-17 harp amp. Go check it out.

That is about as good a blues jam as I have heard in a LONG time. That is Scott Miller singing and playing guitar.

The blues guys in the Bay Area are double plus lucky... They have two of the best blues jams I've ever seen right nearby: The Redwood City Jam and the jam at the Mojo Lounge in Hayward. (I believe it's in Hayward.) Over in Sacramento is the Torch Club Sunday jam, another epic weekly clash of harp and guitar.

[Okay, the Mojo Lounge is in Fremont. I haven't been there since the Curtis Salgado benefit in June of 2006.]

I was at that benefit. I shot photos of that one. That was a fun day and over $5000 was raised.
