Denver harp master Al Chesis and the Delta Sonics workin' the stage at Ziggies, March 5, 2010. Al Chesis on harp, Jeremy Vaszquez on guitar, John Butler on bass, Willie Panker on drums.
Al is playing through a custom "Bandmaster" clone from Mission Amps. There are three more videos from this gig up on my Youtube channel.
Sorry that this is off topic, but you once recommended a mic as the best one for micing an amp; I've gone all the way through your blog, and I couldn't find it. What's the make and model of that mic? Thanks, Dangerous Darryl

Darryl, in the past I've always used the Shure SM57, positioned about 2/3 of the way from the center of the cone toward the rim, pointed off axis a bit.
Sound guys often use the Sennheiser 609 mic, and it sounds good. However, don't just drape it over the amp as some players do: You don't want it resting against the grill cloth which can vibrate like crazy. Put the mic on a stand.
